Luis Suarez is targeting more silverware with Barcelona after signing a new contract that will keep him at Camp Nou until June 2021.
The Uruguay international joined Barca from Liverpool in 2014 and has since won LaLiga and the Copa del Rey twice, while also lifting the Champions League, Supercopa de Espana, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.
Suarez is not satisfied, though, and hopes to add more titles to his list of achievements in the years to come.
I am very happy. It is what I wanted; the thing I fight for. So I am very happy. It is a big satisfaction, the 29-year-old said.
The fact that such a club relies on my work makes me proud and right now I have to keep enjoying and to win titles, which is the way it goes when you play for Barcelona.…
Carlo Ancelotti deflected the credit for Vinicius Jr s upturn in form as Real Madrid prepare to face Valencia on Sunday.
Madrid boast the longest unbeaten streak in LaLiga, having gone 22 games without defeat but they have won only one of their last nine visits to Valencian sides in the top flight.
Vinicius has been an integral part of their positive start to this term, winning three and drawing one, as he has scored four times in as many appearances.
And while Ancelotti has been pleased with the Brazil forward s form, he has not been surprised by his impressive performances so far.
At the game level I see a player with impressive one-on-one ability, Ancelotti told Saturday s news conference.
Today s Vinicius is the same that I saw when he was n…
Arsenal are interested in signing Douglas Luiz from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the January transfer window, according to . The Brazil international midfielder is out of contract at Villa at the end of the season, and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to take advantage of this situation and bring him to the Emirates Stadium in January.
The report has claimed that Arsenal were keen on securing the services of the former Manchester City prospect in the summer transfer window and made an offer of £25 million for him. However, the Villans did not accept it, as they did not want to sell him.
Luiz has made two starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Villa so far this season, scoring one goal in the process. The Brazil international midfield…
According to AS, Real Sociedad have officially begun talks with Everton over the signing of forward Sandro Ramirez. The 23-year-old has been with the Toffees since 2017 when he made the jump from Malaga, but since then he hasn t really been able to hit the ground running and that includes his loan spell with Sevilla.
The deal is currently open in many ways with Sociedad not yet deciding whether or not they want to bring him in on loan or on a permanent deal. Either way the main focus will be to get the deal done before the summer transfer window officially shuts in Spain on Friday.
Sociedad have had a solid start to the La Liga season, kicking things off with an efficient 2-1 victory over Villarreal. They followed that up with an entertaining 2-2 draw against Leganes, a…
Championship outfit Blackpool have signed Newcastle United midfielder Dan Gosling on loan until January 1.
Blackpool, who occupy the final play-off spot in the Championship, have drafted the 23-year-old in as cover for the injured Barry Ferguson.
Ferguson underwent ankle surgery on Monday and the acquisition of Gosling will bolster the options available to manager Paul Ince.
Gosling, who began his career at Plymouth Argyle before catching the eye at Everton, signed for Newcastle in 2010.
He has struggled for first-team football at St James Park, though, making only 28 appearances, including five in the UEFA Europa League.
Gosling, who has featured just twice this season, can be recalled by his parent club after the first 28 days of the loan deal.

Inter owner Massimo Moratti has confirmed he has put pen to paper on a deal to sell the Serie A club.
Moratti had been in talks with Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir over a possible agreement for some time, and revealed on Tuesday the sale has now been finalised.
It was all signed, I believe there will be a press release in a few hours, Moratti said following a meeting in Milan.
Moratti became Inter president in 1995 taking over from Ernesto Pellegrini, and sought to improve the team s fortunes on the field after they finished just one point outside the relegation zone in 1994.
The 68-year-old achieved that feat and has overseen a period of huge success for Inter, with the club winning five straight league titles between 2006 and 2010.
Perhaps Moratti s…
Barcelona and Argentina star Lionel Messi was crowned the winner of the 2015 FIFA Ballon d Or at Monday s ceremony in Zurich.
The 28-year-old beat Real Madrid s Cristiano Ronaldo and Barca team-mate Neymar to the game s most prestigious individual award, winning it for a record fifth time in his spectacular career.
Messi polled 41.33 per cent of the vote, ahead of Ronaldo (27.76 per cent) and Neymar (7.86 per cent).
Messi was the hot favourite for the accolade voted for by international captains, coaches and a selection of media representatives from around the world having helped Barca to an historic treble of La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League in a 2014-15 season in which he netted 58 goals in all competitions.

Mauricio Pochettino believes Chelsea are “awake” after recent results that have altered the course of their season ahead of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final.
The meeting with Liverpool at Wembley will be the club’s first final since co-owner Todd Boehly took charge and embarked on a radical overhaul that has so far not brought success.
It comes after wins away at Aston Villa in the FA Cup and Crystal Palace in the Premier League, which were followed by a fine draw against champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium a week ago.
Those three performances have significantly changed the perception of Pochettino’s rebuilding of the team, after the last home game – a 4-2 defeat to Wolves at Stamford Bridge early in February – saw Chelsea booed off the pitch …
Julian Nagelsmann hailed Bayern Munich s greediness as they crushed Dynamo Kiev 5-0 in Wednesday s Champions League clash.
Bayern cruised past embattled Barcelona in the Bundesliga champions European opener before consolidating their perfect start in Group E with their fifth win in as many European home games against Dynamo.
Robert Lewandowski fired in a brace – his second goal representing his 119th strike in just 100 games for Bayern – before Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting completed the rout midweek.
Nagelsmann has now won nine of his first 10 games in all competitions – the best start by a Bayern head coach – but the highly rated German boss still wants improvements from his side.
For a long time I m already satisfied, …

Hoping to extend on their Champions League charge this weekend, Stuttgart will make the trip to Wolfsburg on Saturday evening.
Starting with the hosts, hit with late heartbreak away at Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend as they eventually had to settle for a 2-2 draw, Wolfsburg have continued to struggle with their consistency this season. Still battling it out in the bottom-half of the Bundesliga table and almost sat in top-flight limbo, the Wolves are remarkably without a win from any of their previous eight straight domestic appearances a run that stems all the way back to December 16th. Gaining a reputation as a real stalemate specialist and setting for a single point in six of their last seven Bundesliga outings, Niko K…
